A Different Kind of School

PMP Film Academy is a K–12 private microschool built for students who need more than a traditional classroom. We combine strong, structured academics with hands-on film production — so students don't just learn, they create.

Using the Dawson Production Method, every core subject is taught through the lens of real filmmaking. Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies — all brought to life through scripts, cameras, sets, and premieres.

Small class sizes mean every child is seen, supported, and challenged at their level. Student-made films premiere at Marquee Cinemas in Beckley, and qualifying projects may earn students real IMDb credits — verified production experience that follows them for life.

Flexible start times, a shorter yearly calendar designed around real life, and class sizes small enough that every child has a role every single day.

Every Talent Has a Place
Acting, directing, writing, editing, sound, music, set design, photography, and more — if your child has a creative gift, there is a role for them here. And by graduation, every PMP student will also know how to budget, write a check, cook a meal, and navigate the real world — because life skills are part of the curriculum too.
