A Different Kind of School

PMP Film Academy is a K–12 private microschool built for students who need more than a traditional classroom. We combine strong, structured academics with hands-on film production — so students don't just learn, they create.

The Dawson Production Method is PMP Film Academy's project-based instructional model where students first learn core academic skills through structured lessons, then apply those skills through hands-on production work, collaboration, problem-solving, and creative projects. This method helps students move beyond memorization by using what they learn in real, meaningful ways.

Small class sizes mean every child is seen, supported, and challenged at their level. Select student productions may be showcased at Marquee Cinemas in Beckley, and qualifying projects may earn verified IMDb credits — real production experience that follows students into their careers.
