A microschool is a small, intentionally designed private school with low student-to-teacher ratios. PMP Film Academy stays small on purpose so every child is seen, known, and challenged at their level.
Absolutely not. No experience required. Students learn everything from the ground up. The only requirement is curiosity and a willingness to create.
The WV HOPE Scholarship is a state-funded education savings account. Beginning in 2026–2027, it offers universal eligibility with an award that covers PMP's full $5,100 tuition for most families. Apply at wvhope.wv.gov.
Yes. PMP Film Academy teaches full K–12 core academics including ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. We are fully compliant with WV state standards. Film production is the method of teaching, not a replacement for it.
Student films premiere at Marquee Cinemas in Beckley, WV. Select productions may be submitted to film festivals and earn students verified IMDb production credits — real experience that follows them into their future careers.
The Dawson Production Method is PMP's proprietary approach to education, developed by founder Hollie Dawson. It integrates core academic standards into real film production so students apply what they learn the same day they learn it.
